Chiropractic

"The foundations of chiropractic philosophy are based on the intimate relationship of the spinal column to the nervous system, as well as the role of the spinal column in biomechanics and movement."

Options of Animals

Chiropractic medicine was founded in 1895 by DD Palmer and later developed by his son BJ Palmer. The field of animal chiropractic was studied along with human chiropractic up until the depression. Modern day animal chiropractic was developed by Sharon Willoughby DVM, DC in 1988 by her and several colleagues with the start of the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA) school which was later renamed Options for Animals.

Animal chiropractic focuses on the relationship of the spine with the nervous system and how it affects the restoration and preservation of health. The treatment is aimed at diagnosing aberrant motion between two adjacent articular structures and utilizing an adjustment to correct the abnormal motion. The adjustment has profound affects on the body's inherent recuperative power.
